Drunk Dialing
[ 10:55 PM ]
"I'm drunk. I'm drunk." said a tipsy soul, with a smile on his face.
It is said that drunk dialing typically takes place late at night when the caller returns home from an eventful evening at a gathering that involves alcohol. While still inebriated, the individual call selected individual in order to engage them in
nonsensical or undesirable conversation at odd hours (3:10am) of the night.
I barely know the individual, it is forgiven (to myself) that I don't know he has drunk dialing problem. I might hold a mobile phone hostage once intoxication devours it's owner's better judgement. In a less than sober situation, I would cave in to pleas for its release.
Drunk dialers is a drunkard who express his actions through phonecall. It's a good thing I can't see what he's doing. I vividly recalled the past experience with my classmates, I was abused. Sometimes, it's amusing to know the comical side of them yet they are being
real. Simply put into words, drunkards can be pushy and indiscriminate.
Individual who call anyone who might answer, leave messages for those who don't and continue to plumb the entries in their phone books until they are finally greeted with a sleepy, often cranky voice. In the sober light of day, some try deleting the phone numbers of people they want to avoid calling, only to learn that there are some digits even a few chiva drink won't let you forget.
Undeniably, the real problem is not with gadgets of instant gratification, but with consuming too much alcohol. It's probably not a good sign that most of the proposals for reform focus on the technology, not on the drinking. But until we manage to end inebriation, we can at least work on protecting the rest of the world's right to uninterrupted sleep.
